Ok, folks. I've often joked a lot about how large the Sookieverse has grown on Twitter. I get a lot of DMs and tweets wondering which characters are available.

Well, I asked the other players who they'd love to interact with on Twitter. We do have a lot of room to grow, so if you're thinking about playing, we hope the list will give you some ideas.

One quick note: We've had quite a few double characters popping up. If you're interested in playing a character that might already be taken, please DM that character to check whether or not they're planning on staying in play before creating a second account. If you haven't heard from them in 24 hours, it's fair game. For a list of characters currently in play, click here.

I recently re-read "Letting down the ponytail," one of the first posts I wrote about being @SookieBonTemps on Twitter. Well, it's been about three months since I wrote that piece, and about five months since I assumed the persona of Sookie Stackhouse.

The Bon Temps Twitterverse has grown significantly. By my last count we have almost 30 characters from the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries

/ True Blood world. That number does not include all of the original characters and real life people who've assumed RP-personalities in Bon Temps and Shreveport. Nor does it include all of the inanimate objects that have taken on a life of their own. If you've ever wanted to play with Mr. Happy, you can tweet @EricsPlenty, you can try and make @MerlottesTShirt wet, or you can play @ComptonPiano.

While the Bon Temps Twitterverse has undergone a population explosion of epic proportions, I still get questions from curious people wondering just what it is we do here. Is it RP? Is it some kind of fanfic?

Both answers are true to some degree, but in my mind, this really is collaborative storytelling. Collaborative stories are unscripted, mostly unplotted storylines that come to life in the real time exchanges of multiple characters thanks to the immediacy of Twitter.

The immediacy of Twitter's format can sometimes birth a beautiful storyline supported by wonderful character dialogue. There are times when the storyline can take on odd twists -- since all of the players are ad-libbing it's possible to miss or misinterpret something that was said on the tweetstream. And finally, there are times where the tweets simply serve as character maintenance. Like real people on Twitter, we have to tweet the mundane, everyday events in our lives: Sam has to go to Monroe to pick up the drink delivery, Eric has the mundane task of reviewing Fangtasia financials, I occasionally have the pleasure of dinner with Pappy.

Regardless, the success of a collaborative story depends on the ability of the writers behind the characters to converse and bring just enough detail into 140-characters so that everyday life in the Bon Temps Twitterverse keeps the spirit of Charlaine Harris' world.

What do you think? Is this just RP? Is it just a new way of bringing fanfic to life? What's similar? What's different? I'm dying to hear your thoughts.

Mark your calenders! As promised, we're going to be acting out fanfic writer Terri Botta's story "When Life Imitates Television."

Just to give you some background, Terri was one of three writers participating in the Support Stacie Fanfic Auction . A bunch of us have gotten to know Terri (Izzy or @isilwath on Twitter), and we wanted to do something to support Stacie in our own special way.

So we agreed that we would act out the winning fanfic. And thankfully, one of our Twitter friends, @EricsTXGal won!

Here are the details for the show:

When: Thursday, April 23, 8:00 - 10:00pm CDT

To watch the show, you'll need to follow the folks listed below:

Bill, Jessica, Kristina, and Victor are going to be playing the supporting characters. They'll be wearing different "faces" to help the storyline along.

Check out the throng of people rushing the stage to get autographs. Unfortunately, Anna Paquin didn't sign autographs -- she was scurried off stage by her security detail right before the rush. Maybe the crowd freaked her out.

My humble opinion? I can't say I blame her -- it would be very much in line with Sookie's character to be a little wary of all the people coming at you from all sides, so I'll refrain from passing judgement.

All in all, a good night.

Last night was so much fun! If you've been following along, I had a blast in Long Beach.

The night kicked off with dinner at Parker's Lighthouse with Dallas, @ObjectDesire, @Robiart, @FangsnRoses and her lovely daughter, @IYouWant2, NocturnalinNC, and Jade. After dinner, we headed to Alex's Bar in Long Beach, the bar used to bring to life Fangtasia on True Blood. Had a drink, got to meet the real deal Alex that owns the bar. Two words: Super Cool.

Given the limitations of my iPhone, I took some more pics to share with all of you so you could get a real taste for the bar with the bite.

OOC: Given the connection between blood-sucking and sex in the SVM/TB series, it would be unnatural for there to be no sex on Twitter.

To reiterate what Jesi was saying, sex with a vampire can be exciting, but it isn’t always nice. In fact, it can be downright scary. If you really wanted to, you could see the glamour not as something sexy, but as a vampire’s version of a roofie. But I digress.

At the heart of the issue is the fact that we’ve become involved in very human relationships with each other. And understandably, we’ve reached the point where it's impossible to keep our emotional relationships from influencing our Twitter behavior. I wouldn’t have blinked an eye at the Support Stacie Fan Fic Auction if it weren’t for my friendship with @isilwath that started on Twitter. Truth.

But as we know from our real lives, emotional relationships can be draining. And given the time that Jesi has put into her update, it’s glaringly apparent that the emotions are draining some of the fun out of what this was intended to be. My heart goes out to @poeticimmortal.

This isn’t a request for everyone to play nice. Hell, it’s probably more fun if you don’t. This goes for the people tweeting in character roles and the friends that have joined the game. It’s a request to play and accept the play for what it is and enjoy the thrill of it all.

And that means accepting that you’ve either had the best sex of your life with a vampire or been roofied.

Thank you for writing this, Jesi. This is the second post I've written in response to one of your blog posts. Not only have your updates kept me up to speed, you've been a strong compass to help guide my way forward in the way I play on Twitter.

Because it's all about the good times.

Last week, @Jesiryu posted a fantastic piece called "The Koala Knows." If you're following my friends and me, it's a little long, but worth reading. The post is important because it summed up the way we've all been feeling. We love that our story is largely unwritten -- we're living in Charlaine Harris' universe playing in her playground and not trying to disrupt the balance that she has set.

Why am I telling you this?

In response to Jesi's piece, we decided to meet. Our world on Twitter has become a little chaotic as of late. Here's what we agreed:

1) Who we're fighting and why -- because if we're going to drag each other into situations where we can get hurt or killed, it's probably best that we agree on who our enemy is

2) None of us wants to be killed and none of us wants to be placed in a situation that we don't agree with

3) We want to keep this free-form -- beyond the first two agreements, we like that we don't have assigned plotlines and scripts

4) We want you to keep playing with us

Number 4 is the most important one. You are a part of our story and we want to keep it that way, but we need your help.

Please don't go rushing into battle. We appreciate your zeal, but it makes it hard for us to figure out what's going on.

Sam, Eric, Bill, and Jessica will do their damnedest to keep all of you safe, but there is only so much they can do. And need I remind you of what happened with the St. Catherine Weres and the Louisiana Sheriffs after the takeover? Bottom line: Supe battles get real bloody, real fast.

As for me and the rest of the humans? We'll be helping them protect you as best we can. But we know when to step in and step out of the fray.

Follow the lead of the characters you're with. I promise, we'll pull you into our adventures and make it worth your while. And you never know. Maybe we'll actually let you stake someone!

Read through the tweets from last night, and I just wanted to apologize to y’all for my behavior. Sure, dancin’ was fun. I love it, ‘specially when the music is good and I’m with my friends. But I decided to tie one on and ended up lookin’ like a fool.

I’m not a drinker, save for a couple of gin and tonics every now and again at Fangtasia. And that time with the bourbon and cokes when Bill walked into Merlotte’s with that Desirée. (If you’re readin’ this, and you know who you are, I still haven’t forgiven you for that.)
